Vice President, Shettima departs Nigeria to attend 2024 US-Africa Business Summit

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has departed Abuja for Dallas, United States, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the 16th US-Africa Business Summit, starting May 6 – 9th, 2024.

According to the catalogue publicised for the event, the Summit titled ‘U.S. – Africa Business: Partnering for Sustainable Success‘ is planned to bring together more than 1,500 U.S. and African public and private sector executives.

Our objective is to enable leaders to connect with government and private sector decision-makers over four days to drive sustainable business partnerships between the United States and Africa, the statement reads.

The summit, hosted by the Corporate Council on Africa, will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.

However, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, said the Vice President, Shettima, would join other African leaders at the event in a roundtable discussion on African Infrastructure Investment.

Also, Shettima is expected to engage in a planning session on Navigating Africa’s Energy Future as a show of commitment to Nigeria’s potential for growth, which will attract investors and foster partnerships in the country.
