Two Notorious Drug Trafficking Kingpins Sentenced to Life Imprisonment

In a decision by the Federal High Court in Abuja, two infamous drug kingpins, Uwaezuoke Christian and Agbo Prince, have been sentenced to life imprisonment for their extensive involvement in the trafficking of cocaine across international borders.

The verdict was announced by Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy at the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), in a statement today on X.

According to Babafemi, Uwaezuoke Christian’s criminal enterprise ended after years of evading justice. His journey to a lifetime behind bars began with his arrest in 2022 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Upon inspection, Uwaezuoke was found to have ingested 100 big wraps of cocaine weighing 2.243 kilograms. Despite being granted bail, he absconded, leading to the revocation of his bail and the issuance of an arrest warrant.

Uwaezuoke was later apprehended in 2023 while attempting to export 1.822 kilograms of cocaine to India under a different identity. Despite pleading guilty, his lack of remorse and history of repeated offences led to his conviction and subsequent sentencing to life imprisonment.

Similarly, Agbo Prince’s criminal activities ended following his arrest at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja in 2023.

He was found to have ingested 49 wraps of cocaine weighing 998.73 grams while attempting to board a flight to Hong Kong. Prince pleaded guilty to the charges and was promptly sentenced to life imprisonment.

The NDLEA has reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking and ensuring that perpetrators face the full force of the law.
