Trump Rushed Off Stage Amid Gunshots at Pennsylvania Rally

Former U.S President Donald Trump was rushed off the stage by Secret Service agents during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania after gunshots rang out.

The incident occurred moments after Trump began addressing a large crowd, aiming to galvanise his supporters.

As he criticised his successor, referring to him as “the worst president in the history of our country,” the sound of gunfire interrupted his speech.

And then the worst president in the history of our country took over. And look what happened to our country. Probably 20 million people [came in illegally]. And, you know, that’s a little bit old, that chart… that chart’s a couple of months old. And if you want to see something sad, look at what happened over… Trump was saying before being abruptly cut off by the shots.

The Secret Service acted swiftly, surrounding Trump and escorting him to safety.

The rally, which had been peaceful until then, descended into chaos as people scrambled for cover.

Law enforcement agencies, including the local police and the Secret Service, quickly secured the area and began an investigation into the source of the gunfire.

According to Reuters, “Video appeared to show blood on his ear and armed law enforcement officers were then seen on a roof near the stage where Trump was standing.”

Reuters also reported that “U.S. President Joe Biden said he was not briefed on the reported shooting, speaking to reporters as he walked out of church in Delaware.”
