President Bola Tinubu has signed the minimum wage bill into law, ending months of deliberations between government authorities, labour unions, and the private sector.

The President signed the bill into law at the State House in Abuja on Monday, with a delegation from the National Assembly, led by President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, and a few others from the House of Representatives to witness the event.

The new wage legislation becomes effective after veritable years of disputes and settlements with main labour unions, including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC).

However, many Nigerians are getting set to demonstrate in the #EndBadGovernance protest to express their feelings and displeasure about the continued economic hardship grounded in a variety of policies of the Tinubu-led administration.

Such frustration came from policies worsening the people’s financial stress, therefore, provoking demands for a quick intervention to relieve them from such suffering.
