Journalists have been harassed by thugs while trying to cover the #EndBadGovernance protest in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Wednesday.

Two protesters were also beaten in the presence of police officers who did nothing while the incident was going on, eyewitnesses told Channels Television.

Thugs positioned themselves near the Federal Secretariat in Port Harcourt as they intimidated and chased away both journalists and protesters. The thugs stated they were there to ensure no protest would take place.

The Federal Secretariat on the Port Harcourt/Aba express road has been a meeting point for protesters during the past seven days of the #EndBadGovernance protest.

Nevertheless, Rivers State Police Commissioner, Olatunji Disu, expressed concerns over the incident, and promised to carry out an investigation into the matter to prevent such from happening again.
