In light of these projections, NiMET has outlined the potential consequences of the extreme heat and issued advisories to the public on how they could manage the situation.

Among the risks highlighted were dehydration leading to symptoms such as fainting, chickenpox, measles, heat rash, weakness, slight fever, and dry lips, as well as heat-related illnesses, respiratory issues, and increased susceptibility to chronic conditions.
NiMET advised the public to prioritise adequate fluid intake, seek shade, utilise fans, and opt for lightweight, breathable clothing to minimise exposure to high temperatures.
Additionally, they recommended avoiding strenuous physical activities during peak heat hours, suggesting staying indoors as much as possible between 12:00 noon and 4:00 pm.
