Mo Abudu Takes Center Stage as Guest Programmer for Academy Museum’s ‘Echoes of Africa’ at 96th Oscars

Renowned Nigerian filmmaker Mo Abudu proudly announces her appointment as Guest Programmer at the prestigious Academy Museum in Los Angeles, gearing up for the 96th Academy Awards.

The Academy Museum serves as the official museum of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the body that has been responsible for the Oscars (Academy Awards) for years.

As part of her responsibilities, Andy has exclusively curated a compelling series titled “Echoes of Africa,” a cinematic exploration of African experiences, triumphs, dreams, and realities for the Academy Museum.

The film series is presented in partnership with the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP). The event is scheduled for February 1 to 9, 2024, in Los Angeles. A diverse array of African films, including classics like “The Little Girl Who Sold the Sun” and “Le Franc,” will be showcased during this period.

The culmination of these efforts will be witnessed at the 96th Academy Awards scheduled for March 11, 2024.
