Manchester City have secured the 2023/2024 Premier League title, becoming the first team in history to win the League for a fourth consecutive season.

The Pep Guardiola side set the tone early in their decisive match against West Ham. Phil Foden opened the scoring within the first minute and added a second goal in the 18th minute, ensuring a comfortable victory and sealing their place in the record books.

Today marks another season of near success and unfulfilled potential for Arsenal. Despite significant investment and progress under Mikel Arteta, the Gunners ended the season without a trophy. However, they achieved a notable milestone by reaching the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time in over a decade.

Arsenal’s hopes of a dramatic final-day turnaround in the Premier League title race were dashed as Manchester City’s early dominance against West Ham left the Gunners’ victory over Everton meaningless.

Despite securing three points against Everton, Arsenal’s fate was sealed as soon as City took the lead within two minutes of their match, rendering any hopes of a title comeback futile.

Responding to journalists after today’s match, Kai Havertz expressed his disappointment, saying,

“What can I say? I feel sorry for all the Arsenal fans. We gave our best but it wasn’t enough. Maybe in two or three months we can say it was a good fight. Right now I feel like we deserve more. It wasn’t enough in the end but we go again next year.”

Mikel Arteta addressed the Arsenal crowd following the season’s conclusion, acknowledging their frustration and offering a message of hope and determination.

“We’re going to get it.”

As Manchester City celebrated their historic achievement, Arsenal were left to reflect on another season of “what ifs.”

Despite their performance this season again, the Premier League title remains out of reach for another year.

Arteta and his squad will look to the next season with ‘renewed hope’ of breaking their trophy drought and challenging City’s dominance in the League.
