Kebbi State Government is set to introduce a ‘single demand notice’ to remove multiple taxation and enable micro-, small and medium-scale entrepreneurs to thrive.

Dr Kabir Kamba, the Director General of Kebbi Investment Promotion Agency (KIPA), disclosed this during a forum on access to credit facilities for entrepreneurs held in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

According to a report by the Nigerian Tribune, Dr Kamba stated KIPA was established last year to boost investments and economic growth in the state.

Small and Medium enterprises are key to economic growth, adding that the present administration in the state is committed to the removal of all impediments to business activities, including multiple taxation,” he stated.

The Director General of KIPA stated that the Governor, Nasir Idris, had issued an Executive Order mandating a ‘single demand notice’ to allow “breathing space” for small and medium business owners.

At the forum was the state’s Acting Head of Service, Hajiya Aishatu Usman, who stated, “Small and medium scale businesses played a pivotal role in driving economic growth, innovation and job creation in the state.

This forum aligns with our mission to facilitate access to finance, a critical factor in unlocking the potential of small and medium businesses,” she added.

Present at the occasion from the entrepreneurial bodies were representatives of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency of Nigeria, SMEDEAN and Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System, NIRSAL and MSMEs Associations and Private Manufacturers.
