Breaking: British King Charles Diagnosed with Cancer, Says Buckingham Palace

242

King Charles of Britain has received a cancer diagnosis, prompting the 75-year-old monarch to temporarily step back from public duties during his treatment, Buckingham Palace revealed on Monday.

Last month, Charles spent three nights in the hospital for a corrective procedure on an enlarged prostate. During this hospital stay, another health issue was identified and described as a “form of cancer” without specific details provided, except for the clarification that it is not prostate cancer.

“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties,” the palace said. “Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”
Concluding the statement, the palace stated that “His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.”
Charles assumed the throne in September 2022 after the passing of Queen Elizabeth. He remains optimistic about his treatment and is looking forward to resuming full public responsibilities soon.
