Asake Unveils Teaser for New Documentary Voiced by Idris Elba, Highlights His Journey from Lagos to Global Stardom

Nigerian music artiste Asake has teased an upcoming documentary that will showcase his meteoric rise to fame, with narration by acclaimed British actor Idris Elba. The teaser, which was shared on Asake’s Instagram on September 23, 2024, opens with scenes from the streets of Lagos, where the artist spent his early years.

The teaser showcased key moments from Asake’s ongoing “Lungu Boy” world tour, named after his third album. Though the official title of the documentary has not been confirmed, it may carry the same name as his album, “Lungu Boy,” released in August.

This film comes on the heels of Asake’s recent success, including his second sold-out performance at the O2 Arena in London, where he was presented with a BRIT silver plaque for his album Work of Art.

Fans can expect the documentary to delve deeper into Asake’s story, from his humble beginnings to his collaboration with international stars like Wizkid, Stormzy, and Travis Scott.
