Bolanle Austen-Peters Set To Launch Lagos International Theatre Festival 2024 

Bolanle Austen-Peters is set to launch the Lagos International Theatre Festival (LITF) in partnership with Lagos State from November 15th to 17th, 2024. The festival will showcase a diverse range of theatrical performances across four key Lagos venues: The National Theatre, Terra Kulture, Muson Centre, and John Randle Centre.

The festival aims to foster a thriving community for actors and promote sustainability within the creative industry. According to Shock NG, Austen-Peters spearheads the festival alongside major corporate partners, including First Bank of Nigeria Limited, Dorman Long Engineering, Amstel Malta, and the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts.

LITF 2024 will feature a rich lineup of musicals, skits, and theatre performances celebrating African culture and storytelling. The event will also include workshops, masterclasses, and panel discussions led by industry professionals, offering valuable learning opportunities for aspiring artists. Additionally, a vibrant marketplace will offer theatre-related merchandise.

The festival is expected to significantly impact the local economy by boosting tourism, creating job opportunities, and contributing to the growth of the creative industry in Lagos. It follows other major Nigerian film festivals scheduled for later this year, including the Abuja International Film Festival, AFRIFF and Eastern Nigeria International Film Festival.
