Award-winning cinematographer and music video director, TG Omori, has revealed that he recently underwent a failed kidney transplant at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos.

“One year after my kidney crashed, I just had a failed transplant at St Nicholas Hospital Lagos. Pray for me,” he wrote on X.

Omori, also known as Boy Director, disclosed the news today on X sharing that he had been in and out of the operating theatre three times and wasn’t destined to die today.

In an emotional and heart-wrenching post shared yesterday, Omori stated the sacrifice his brother made by donating his kidney, expressing his determination to stay alive despite his health struggles. “Yesterday, my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again”.

The music video director, who has been notably absent from public appearances recently, shared the image of himself in a hospital bed, clearly illustrating the severity of his condition with captions that read “Keep my spirit alive” and “I don’t wanna die,”

Omori has been a prominent figure in the Nigerian music scene since 2018, and has directed music videos for top artists such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, Olamide, and many others.
