Award-winning showrunner Shonda Rhimes, renowned for her captivating productions like “Bridgerton,” “Scandal,” “How to Get Away with Murder” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” recently revealed which of the leading men from all her shows she’d choose for herself during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the acclaimed creator engaged in a lively discussion about her iconic characters.

Jennifer Hudson, the host, seized the opportunity to inquire which of Rhimes’ leading men she would choose for herself. Among the contenders were McDreamy (Derek Shepherd), portrayed by the charming Patrick Dempsey, and McSteamy (Mark Sloan), brought to life by the dashing Eric Dane, both from “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Additionally, President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) from “Scandal,” Detective Nate Lahey (Billy Brown) from “How to Get Away with Murder,” and Bridgerton’s dashing Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), were in the running.

In her newest creation, Rhimes chose Simon, the Duke of Hastings. “I’m gonna have to say the Duke,” she declared, explaining, “Not because they’re not all amazing, but because he was such a fantasy-fulfilled kind of man. Like he was perfect, never got to have any real flaws after we got them all together.”

Hudson, impressed by Rhimes’ choice, expressed her approval, remarking, “That’s a good choice. I love that for you.”

Regé-Jean Page, who captured hearts worldwide with his portrayal of Simon in “Bridgerton” Season 1, became an instant heartthrob, igniting fervent discussions across social media. However, fans were left disheartened when Page announced his departure from the series after the first season, a decision he has steadfastly maintained as the show progressed.
