APC Kicks as Obi Visits Atiku in Tremble of Opposition Alliance Ahead of 2027 Election

Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reacted to the recent visit of Peter Obi, the opposition leader of the Labour Party (LP), to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

On May 13, 2024, Obi visited Abubakar and stated, “It was my honour and privilege to host Peter Obi today.”

The visit sparked reactions among the supporters of both Presidential candidates. On Tuesday, the ruling party also responded.

In response, APC said Obi and Abubakar are united by mutual disdain for Tinubu and desperation to become Nigerian President, despite both leaders remaining quiet about the context of the visit.

Meanwhile, Obi has stated several times before and after the last general election that he is not desperate to become Nigeria’s President but to ensure that Nigeria works for the citizens.

However, in fear of what might be, APC has since launched a barrage of attacks to distract Nigerians from the country’s current economic and security reality caused by the Tinubu-led administration.

Nonetheless, Nigerians on social media have called on the Tinubu-led administration to solve the problems of inflation, insecurity, and mismanagement of public funds rather than resorting to sentimental politics.
