MTN releases 'List of Unclaimed Dividends' prior Annual General Meeting

South Africa’s biggest telecoms operator, MTN, has released the ‘List of Unclaimed Dividends’ before its Annual General Meeting, which is scheduled for mid-May 20204.

MTN Nigeria, in its Notice of Annual General Meeting, in preparation, outlined to address what it termed “ordinary” and “special” business for shareholders who have stocks with the company.

To recall, MTN announced in 2021 its decision to sell up to 575 million shares to Nigerians via public offers.

While some public shareholders who bought units of shares have claimed their dividends, over 7,500 shareholders have yet to do so.

This led the network operator, MTN, to publish the list of unclaimed dividends ahead of its general meeting with key stakeholders and shareholders in the mobile network industry.

More so, MTN’s explanatory note expands on what to expect ahead of the AGM on May 16, 2024.

However, the announcement in parts reads:

This is to inform you that the Annual General Meeting of MTN Nigeria Communications Plc. is scheduled to be held as follows:

Date: Thursday,  May 16, 2024

Venue: Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, 6-8 Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos

Time: 11:00 am”
