Binance Executive Pleads Not Guilty to Money Laundering Charges, Remanded in Kuje Prison

Tigran Gambaryan, an executive of Binance has pleaded not guilty to charges of money laundering brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Gambaryan was arraigned on Monday before Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

During the proceedings, Gambaryan denied the allegations levied against him, and Binance.

Following the plea, Justice Nwite ordered Gambaryan be remand in Kuje Correctional Centre, pending the determination of his bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned to April 18 for the ruling on Gambaryan’s bail application, which holds significant weight in determining his immediate fate.

Subsequently, May 2 has been earmarked for the commencement of the trial, where the intricacies of the allegations and Gambaryan’s defense will be thoroughly scrutinised.

Recall, Tigran Gambaryan was detained by the government alongside Nadeem Anjarwalla, the regional manager for Binance in Africa, however, Anjarwalla escaped from security custody in Nigeria using a smuggled passport, the office of Nigeria’s National Security Adviser had announced.
