“Anikulapo” Netflix Series Premieres in Lagos Ahead of March Release

The much-anticipated premiere of the newly crafted Nollywood series, “Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre,” derived from the popular film “Anikulapo,” took place on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos State.

Attended by the primary cast of the series alongside other esteemed A-list actors, the event was a vibrant display of colourful and enchanting attire from guests. The inspiration was an epic dressing with a dash of modernity as “Anikulapo” is an epic movie. Scheduled for a global release on March 1st, the epic saga will grace screens in over 190 countries exclusively on Netflix.

Set and filmed at the expansive Kunle Afolayan Production (KAP) Film Village in Komu-Igbojaye, Oyo State, the series is set against the backdrop of betrayal, vengeance, and the relentless pursuit of supremacy. The series promises an enthralling narrative.

The premiere was hosted by popular Nigerian comedian Gbenga Adeyinka, while the gathering witnessed the presence of illustrious actors such as Lateef Adedimeji, Kunle Remi, Bimbo Ademoye, Femi Adebayo, Monalisa Chinda, Sola Sobowale, Gabriel Afolayan, amongst others.
