No “casualty nor injury” was recorded in the fire explosion which occurred at Iju Ishaga, Lagos State, on Tuesday night, Feb. 13.

This was revealed by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service on Wednesday, Feb. 14, via their official X handle.

A gas carrying truck had exploded on Tuesday, around 10pm, at Agbado Road, Toyin Bus Stop, in Iju Ishaga.

According to the fire service report, 18 stores were affected by the fire outbreak.

The Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, revealed that the explosion was caused by an accident while transferring six gas cylinders (75-50 kg) from a small truck to a gas shop. One of the cylinders’ caps had been “compromised”, leading to the fire explosion.
