A survivor of the recent Ekiti schoolchildren kidnapping has revealed the horrifying details of the abduction that sent shockwaves through the community.

The survivor, a young boy whose identity remains protected, recounted the harrowing experience of being held at gunpoint by young ‘Fulani men’ wielding AK-47s.

The incident unfolded on Monday along the Emure-Ekiti — Iporo Ekiti road, where a group of gunmen launched a brazen attack on a bus carrying more than 25 pupils.

The children, innocently on their way home after the school day, found themselves thrust into a nightmare scenario as armed assailants stormed their vehicle.

According to the survivor’s account, the attackers fired gunshots, causing panic among them. The driver, initially mistaking the sounds for a vehicle malfunction, stepped out of the bus only to be seized by the assailants.

With guns pointed at the terrified passengers, the gunmen proceeded to select individuals for abduction, instilling fear with their threats of violence.

Among the victims targeted by the gunmen was a young girl whose two brothers tried to intervene to protect their sister. The survivor described a scene of terror and confusion as the assailants forcibly took their victims, leaving the remaining passengers traumatized and desperate for escape.

The survivor’s father expressed disbelief and anguish over the attackers being youths with firearms.

” my son is not a baby, he told me all the people are Fulanis and they are young young boys, five of them carry AK 47, we don’t know where they get this,” he lamented.
