Signature Bank has, on Wednesday, expanded its footprint in Abia State by launching new branches in Umuahia and Aba. This move represents a crucial step in the bank’s strategy to extend its services and support economic growth in the region.

Mrs. Ayona Trimnell, a spokesperson for the bank, highlighted that these branches in Umuahia, the state’s capital, and Aba, its commercial hub, will provide convenient access to a range of financial products and services, including business loans and personal banking.

In Umuahia and Aba, Signature Bank aims to serve the vibrant economic communities and offer innovative and customer-centric banking solutions. The new branches promise a modern, welcoming environment, equipped to assist customers in achieving their financial goals. This expansion adds to Signature Bank’s existing presence in Abuja and Port Harcourt.

Meanwhile, Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, clarified his current role in relation to Signature Bank during the opening of these branches. Having resigned as a pioneer non-executive director eight months ago to assume the governorship, Otti emphasized his support for the bank’s expansion as a testament to the growing business confidence in Abia State. He assured potential investors of the state’s support.

“Abia is open for business and anyone who wants to invest in Abia, be it in banking, finance, trade, or major businesses; we will be there to support you. And when you have erected your building and you are ready to open for business, invite us, and we will come to open it with you”, he stated.

Emphasizing his campaign promises, Otti said: “We promised at the inception of this administration that we shall be a business-friendly government, adopting robust initiatives to enhance our ease of doing business ranking, supporting micro small, and medium scale enterprises.”‍

“We can confidently say that Abia has become a strategic investment zone for business planning to tap into new frontier of opportunities.”
