DHQ Tells Nigerians To Resist Terrorists

The Defence Headquarters, DHQ, has urged Nigerians to be conscious in the event of terrorist attacks and report criminal activities in their localities to security operatives.

Speaking to a journalist in Abuja on Thursday, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Edward Buba, reassured the public that the Army will work with the people at any tip-off notice.

In his statement with the press, he stated, “Make Nigerians no gree for terrorists this year. You see something, you say something, and we assure them of doing something”, a statement that translates to Nigerians speaking up to stand against terror attacks by raising the alarm to security agencies at a moment notice.

Unlike Buba, the ACP of the Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, warned that Nigerians should refrain from the slang as it can lead to crisis. As much as this is somewhat hilarious, it poses a great security concern as the Military states its goal in 2024 to be an all-out plan to locate and destroy terrorists in their various hideouts. Nonetheless, he made it known that terrorists are actively in business and Nigerians in their awareness should rise against terrorism, although by alerting security operatives.

He added, “The aim of our ongoing operations remains unchanged and clear even in the new year 2024. We aim to find and destroy the terrorist wherever they may be hiding to ensure their enduring defeat. This would deny the terrorist the ability to terrorize or hurt citizens across the country.

“Our operations indicate that we are hunting the terrorist commanders and their senior leadership. Indeed, from their topmost leadership to the lowest commanders are dead men walking, and we will stop at nothing until they are dead or surrender.”

He, however, noted that the past operation of the armed force has led to the neutralisation of 86 terrorists, with 101 of them arrested.
