The viral video captured the officers in an appalling act, demanding money from a Dutch woman rider in Ojongbodu area, leading to their immediate apprehension by the police.

Commissioner of Police, CP Adebola Ayinde Hamzat, has initiated a disciplinary procedure, denouncing the officers’ behaviour as utterly unprofessional, unacceptable, and deserving punishment.

The gravity of the incident prompted the police authority to condemn the actions and order sanctions for the involved constabularies and their overseeing Divisional Police Officer.

“The Force vehemently denounced such behaviour, which goes against the principles of policing and will not be tolerated in any regard,” stated Muyiwa Adejobi, Force PRO.

Muyiwa, in his statement, highlighted the commitment to intensify ongoing reorientation programs initiated by Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

These programs, he noted, aim to address such misconduct and elevate the standards of the Nigeria Police Force.
